EC grade is the first filter most professional buyers use when sourcing from a cocopeat block producer in Indonesia. It is not a quality slogan. It is a salt-level band that changes wash requirements and crop suitability.
Low EC blocks
Low EC blocks are specified at max 0.7 mS/cm (1:3). They suit professional greenhouse mixes where salt control matters. Weight 4.5–5 kg, expansion 60–70 L, moisture under 20%, pH 5–7.
High EC blocks
High EC blocks sit above 1 mS/cm (1:3) with the same physical pack profile: 4.5–5 kg, 60–70 L expansion, moisture under 20%, pH 5–7. They fit outdoor or cost-sensitive programs where buyers accept higher starting salts.
How to choose
If your customers demand buffered low-salt media with minimal wash, stay on low EC. If your blend process already washes or dilutes aggressively, high EC can reduce substrate cost. Request a quote with crop type and target EC so we recommend the right SKU.
